Jory Gwasdoff
Executive Director
Jory grew up in Stockton and moved back in 2021 after spending a decade at various nonprofits in the Bay Area. Jory is passionate about bringing together the local community towards the common goal of supporting struggling families in San Joaquin County.
Jory believes that San Joaquin County is one of the most diverse places in the world and that Family Promise is helping connect us all to make our community better each day.
Kayla Thompson
Program Manager
Kayla is a Sacramento native who moved to San Joaquin County. Kayla was a Case Manager at a non-profit in Sacramento whose focus was assisting homeless youth and finding them safe shelter. Before that, she served in the AmeriCorps, during the COVID-19 pandemic, as a Youth Services Coordinator for the American Red Cross. Kayla is passionate about serving her community’s most vulnerable populations with compassion, dignity and respect while helping participants achieve their goals towards a life of self-sufficiency. Kayla was the first Family Promise SJC Case Manager and has since taken on a larger role as the Program Manager.
Laronta Taylor (Call me Taylor)
Case Manager
Taylor is a California native that has worked in Human Services/Social Services for many years. Her experience as a Youth Advocate, Counselor, Psych Tech Assistant, Coordinator, and Case Manager made her a natural fit at Family Promise SJC. She is passionate about helping families in need and meeting them where they are at. Taylor is extremely excited to be part of the Family Promise SJC family and team!
